Headteachers Welcome

Head Teacher

Welcome from the Headteacher

I am delighted to introduce you to the Abersychan School web-site which has been developed in partnership with schoolwebsite.co.uk; I am sure that you will find this presentation informative and interesting and I hope that it will provide you with a full flavour of life in our school community

Abersychan School provides an extensive range of academic, vocational, musical and sporting opportunities allowing pupils to pursue their chosen interests and develop their individual talents. Our spiritual, moral, social and cultural programmes have been designed to promote a generation of young people who are caring, responsible, socially aware and proud of their heritage. They are our most precious resource and they deserve the very best. At Abersychan we intend to provide the very best to equip our young people with the knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence to cope with the demands of an ever-changing world.

Our most recent Inspection report in November 2009 described Abersychan as a “good school with outstanding features”. Abersychan prides itself on being a happy, caring and disciplined school with a committed staff who work hard to ensure that pupils of all abilities and interests achieve their potential in a safe, supportive, learning environment. The care, support and guidance for our pupils was fully recognised by the inspection team as another outstanding aspect of the school. Abersychan was described as a school where pupils’ behaviour was exemplary and the impact of the relationships between pupils and staff on pupil learning and progress was described as yet another outstanding feature of the school. A full copy of the Inspection Report is available on this website.

There is always a warm welcome for parents at Abersychan. If you wish to find out more about our school or if you wish to make an individual visit to the school, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
